AW Home Care believes that home care providers should offer cost-effective, intelligent, compassionate care.  We will follow these principles as we offer our services to the community.  The care we provide will enable our clients to live with as much independence and dignity as their condition permits, providing peace of mind to clients and families.  We do not discriminate based on race, color, religion, sex, or national origin.  AW Home Care can help the private pay, HCBS Medicaid Long Term Care clients, and those with private insurance providing extensive Long Term Care benefits.

Sharlene and AW Home Care Services made our lives much less complicated considering we are in California and they were with Emma in Denver.  Sharlene coordinated the care, provided daily inputs, emails or calls to us as necessary.  She assisted in coordinating the medication that Emma is required to take to make certain that she was taking it.  The workers provided on-site meal preparation, laundry services, trips to the doctor, picking up of supplies for Emma, and even assisted us in packing and moving Emma's belongings.  In the process of packing, they found over $4700 in cash in envelopes stashed all around Emma's apartment, which Sharlene immeditely notified us of and stored safely for Emma and us.

Do you aspire to help others?  Do you have the time and patience to brighten the day for someone else?  AW Home Care is always looking for caregivers who are willing to help others with the tasks of daily living.  You would be performing light housekeeping tasks such as dusting, vacuuming, meal preparation, dish washing and laundry.  You may be verifying that medications are taken and assisting with personal hygiene.  Occasionally there is a need to provide transportation to doctors appointments or to do some shopping for your client.

Please welcome our new Supervisor in Colorado Springs

AW Home care has hired Judith Billingsley to provide supervisory services to clients and employees in the Colorado Springs Area.  She will also be acting as a backup administrator in preparation to eventually moving into the position of Administrator.  Judith comes to us will several years of experience in preparing and providing training to employees and providing service to a wide variety of people.  She is able to help our clients negotiate the requirements for Medicaid approval and/or Long Term Care approval.  She is friendly, efficient, and hardworking and we are so glad that she has come to us with these skills.  This arrangement allows us to respond more quickly to the changes in needs for our clients in Colorado Springs as well as provide close support and supervision for our employees there also.

My mother has lived in her home for over 40 years.  She is having problems with memory and is no longer able to care for her home.  My daughter has moved into the basement to help her out, but cannot be there all of the time.  We called AW Home Care to come in about 6 hours each day.  They do the major housekeeping and help Mother with her bath, dressing, preparing nutritious meals and go for walks with her.  

Some days they spend several hours just talking with her and listening to her stories.  It is wonderful to know that someone is there to provide a clean, safe, organized environment for Mother and to know that they care about her and her feelings.

I have always loved gardening and am used to spending many hours in the yard each summer.  Last winter I broke my hip, and although I am able to get around fairly well, I cannot get down to weed, plant, or properly care for my flowers.  AW Home Care actually has a caregiver that loves working in the yard as much as I do.  She comes over a couple times a month and cleans out the flower beds, trims, feeds, and cares for the flowers.  They look almost as nice as they did when I spent many hours every week.  I can sit out here with a lemonade and truly enjoy the flowers.

I have lived in this apartment for over a year now, and have had AW Home Care helping me for about 8 months.  Their employee comes in twice a week and cleans for me, does laundry, and goes to the store.  I am blind and in a wheelchair so I am dependent on her putting things where I can get to them.  She has helped organize my kitchen and bathroom, got the manager to replace my stove that wasn't working properly, got the screens fixed and the deck repaired.  She had a fan installed on the light so that I can cool the place down, and she makes sure that I am getting all of the services that I need.  The company works well with other resource providers and together they have made my life much better.

I have lived in a senior living highrise for several years and generally was able to take care of myself and my apartment.  Although I can technically take care of things now, I think I have earned the right to ask for some help.  I requested some help twice a month to clean my apartment and do laundry.  It is only two hours each time and therefore is not too taxing on my budget.  The lift it gives me is worth every dime spent.  I don't have to crawl around cleaning the bathtub and comode any longer.  I don't have to lift the mattress to change the sheets.  I don't have to tote the laundry to the laundry room and then sit there while things wash and dry.  My caregiver has been with me for two years now and she is delightful.  She is full of sunshine and brings a wonderful spirit to her work.  I am grateful for the association I have had with AW Home Care.

Our screening process includes references, criminal history record search, drug screening, satisfactory work record, and good health. Employees must comply with our agency policies and our Agreement to Standards.

Staff competence is evaluated and monitored regularly. If additional skills are needed to meet our client’s needs, we provide specific training.
